Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail Alpine Stages

Begin your cycle journey with a heli-hop from Aoraki/Mt Cook to Tasman Point. Ride your way along the edges of the alpine lakes between NZ’s highest mountain and Omarama - the Place of Light. Treat yourself to a well earned hot tub soak at the end of your journey. These stunning sections of the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail are known as the alpine stages. Day One: Overnight Tekapo

Dormitory

  • Shared dormitory, shared bathroom and kitchen facilities; ensuite room $99per night; double or twin shared bathroom $89per room per night; $32pp per night in a six bed dorm, shared facilities
  • 6 family suites; max. four persons per unit with basic kitchen facilities $180 per night plus $35pp per extra bed

Standard

  • Apartment; shared bathroom and kitchen $70pp, shared facilities

Superior

  • $520 per night, self contained holiday home - sleeps 8
  • $320 per night, Cottage style, self contained, sleeps 4

Luxury

  • Luxury; self contained home for six people $570 per night; max 6; next door add-ons are a studio, sleeps 2 or a cottage sleeps 4
  • Luxury B & B includes continental breakfast $240 per room per night, typically couples accommodation; max 6 couples
  • The Cairns Alpine Cottages; from $250 for two people, $50/additional adult; super king splits can accommodate singles. Max 4 persons per cottage *prices may increase in peak season for this accommodation

Day Two: Mt Cook Helihop, overnight Braemar Station

**Heli-hop $160pp includes bike transfer from Mt Cook Airport to Tasman Point

  • Braemar Station Accommodation; $150pp includes dinner, bed, breakfast and a packed lunch; this is an amazing deal and a simply stunning place to spend a night

Day Three: Overnight Twizel

Superior Accommodation

  • Superior rooms in lodge accommodation $180pp, lunches extra $17pp

Day Four: Overnight Lake Ohau

Lowest price

  • Huxley Wing; dinner, bed and breakfast; double twin share $124pp/ single $168

Mid-range price

  • Temple Wing; Dinner, bed and breakfast, 2 persons $155pp / single $220
  • Extra adults (over the two already in the wing) $88.20pp

  • Upper South Temple Wing; the best rooms with queen bed suitable for a single person or couple
  • Dinner, bed and breakfast included; 2 persons $190 pp/ one person $280per night

Day Five: Overnight either Omarama or Tekapo

Accommodation arrangements and costs will be similar to those indicated in day one and will be made on receipt of your enquiry based on your group's wishes.
